Why be “platform agnostic” when it comes to virtual events?

A Thought Leader Conversation with Aaron Cole, Co-Founder & CEO, VirtualVenues.com

Have you ever felt like you were stuck in a virtual event platform wasteland, unable to find the right tool for your needs? During our latest Thought Leader Conversation interview, Aaron Cole of Virtualvenues.com talks about why they don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to virtual events.

At V2, the focus is on the message delivery and the goals of the event stakeholders, and that is what drives the platform selection. Here are some common questions that the V2 team will ask when determining the best solution for their clients:

  • Who is your audience? Who will be trying to access your event? Should it be a downloaded console or browser based console? What will be easiest for attendee adoption?

  • What type of content will be shared? Will there be a live demo?

  • How many presenters will there be? Will this be a multi-day event?

  • Will there be a live audience and virtual audience (Hybrid event)?

  • Will there be breakout sessions with a smaller group of attendees and the speakers?

  • How will attendees be signing up or registering for the event? Will there be a mobile component (QR code)?

  • Will there be resources available?

Take a listen as Aaron and Roger Courville, V2 Head of Strategy, break down some of the big drivers listed above that shape the decision on platform selection.
